Model DI1001-B MFG Date: October, 2001 This machine was designed and built for SUNBEAM Corp. in Hattiesburg, MS. The machine was installed in Matamores, Mexico for the assembly of the heating element for several different types of coffee makers. An operator places an element in a fixture along with a thermostat and 2 thermal cutoff devices. The start button is pressed, and the machine moves the assembly under a high-frequency resistance welding system. Welds are made at the component leads that intersect within .001 of repeatability. This machine ensures exact placement of all components for better quality and consistent brewing water temperature. A total of 10 machines were built and installed in Mexico. Machine setup and training was provided by Design Innovation LLC. Machine Price $10,000.00 each. Jarrod Pitalo, Senior Engineer for SUNBEAM operates the machine on a production line in Matamores Mexico. |
